India's leading beer company deploys Fortinet's FortiGate enterprise security appliance to protect its network from viruses, spam and other network threats

today announced that United Breweries Limited (UBL), the flagship company of the UB Group and the leading brewery in India, has selected Fortinet's FortiGate-300 enterprise security appliance to protect its network infrastructure from viruses, spam and other computer threats.
UBL was founded in 1915 from the merger of five breweries in India. The company, headquartered in Bangalore, has 11 factories and five regional offices, and commands 40 percent of the domestic Indian market with popular brands of beer, such as Kingfisher, UB Export, London Pilsner and Kalyani Black Label. The rise of sophisticated network threats, such as blended attacks and the deluge of spam email in the past year, required UBL found its software-based proxy server solution no longer sufficient and needed to upgrade its security infrastructure. UBL sought an integrated, comprehensive unified threat management solution that offered anti-spam, firewall, antivirus and bandwidth optimization capabilities. After evaluating and testing competing security solutions, UBL selected Fortinet's FortiGate-300 system.
