Thailand's leading money carrier selects Fortinet to protect its network and data.

- today announced that Krungthai General Services, the largest money carrier in Thailand, has successfully deployed the Fortinet's FortiGate integrated network security platform to protect its head office in Bangkok.
Krungthai General Services (KGS), established in 1997, has its head office in Bangkok and has 17 branches throughout Thailand. The company mainly serves Krungthai Bank, a leading bank in Thailand. Because KGS keeps important financial data, some belonging to the Thai government, the company needed a security solution that offered a comprehensive range of security features covering all current and emerging threats, to effectively protect its network, data and services.
KGS had previously deployed solutions from other vendors, but quickly found their limited feature set insufficient for the company's needs. KGS looked for a solution that offered antivirus, anti-spam and intrusion detection and prevention features, in a centralized platform that was easy to manage to maintain. The company researched and evaluated solutions from Fortinet, Cisco, Watchguard and SonicWall.. They eventually selected Fortinet's FortiGate-200 Antivirus Firewall solution because of its diverse and comprehensive set of features, its ease of use and manageability, ease of maintenance, and total cost of ownership over the short and long term.
Since deploying the Fortinet solution, KGS has seen a dramatic reduction in spam mail and the network became noticeably more stable and secure. The implementation of the Fortinet solution has been so successful that KGS is now planning to roll-out Fortinet solutions to all 17 provincial branches and upgrade the current FortiGate-200 system at the head office to a FortiGate-400 enterprise-class system.

Although features are important, we were very impressed by the performance of the network after the FortiGate-200A was deployed ¨C we expected it to be slow because of all the functionalities, but surprisingly, there seemed to be no impact.
