Two Fortinet Customers Recognized in IDG's CIO 100 Asia Awards and Conference 2006

Nanyang Technological University and AeroNimbus are honored for their strategic use of security technologies

SINGAPORE, April 7, 2006 -- Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions - today announced that two of its customers, Nanyang Technological University and AeroNimbus, have been named as CIO 100 Index honorees at the annual IDG CIO 100 Asia Awards and Conference 2006 for strategic use of IT in network security.

The CIO 100 Index represents a select list of Asian companies adjudged to have added the most value to their businesses through the strategic adoption of IT best practices. The top five honorees judged on whether they have transformed their business or effectively conceived or implemented new best practices are further presented with the CIO Awards.

Nanyang Technological University, a leading institute for higher education in Singapore, implemented Fortinet's FortiGate™-3600 unified threat management (UTM) platforms and FortiAnalyzer™-800 real-time network logging, analysis and reporting system, to provide comprehensive and integrated security and auditing services for its edveNTUre eLearning service. This is housed at the eLearning Operations Center at the Centre for Educational Development (CED). edveNTUre is a popular e-service for teaching and learning used by students and staff. It is a mission-critical service handling between 3 and 4 million page views per week. In addition to improving overall security, the Fortinet integrated multi-threat security platform protected the university from Internet and network attacks, including the Zotob worm, during 2005.

AeroNimbus, a light aircraft manufacturing company headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, builds next-generation very light jets (VLJ) aircraft, which can be used for surveillance, cartography, air ambulances, corporate travel and VIP transport. The company realized a secure and cost-effective regional network through the deployment of Fortinet FortiGate-60 UTM systems for its offices in Thailand and Malaysia, and FortiGate-200A systems for its offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Fortinet's market-leading FortiGate systems are ASIC-accelerated security appliances that deliver real-time network protection through the integration of a broad range of security functions -- including firewall, virtual private networking (VPN), antivirus, intrusion prevention (IPS), Web filtering, traffic shaping, and anti-spam. FortiGate systems are kept up to date automatically through Fortinet's FortiGuard™ Network, which delivers continuous and automatic signature 'push' updates that ensure protection against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, intrusions and other threats around the clock, and around the world.

"We are proud that use of Fortinet's technology have enabled our customers to improve their network security and IT practices," said Hansen Chang, vice president of Fortinet Asia-Pacific "The recognition of their success by IDG is a testament to Fortinet's superior multi-threat security technology and our understanding of the evolving challenges of our customers."

This is the second year that Fortinet's customers were nominated honorees in IDG's CIO 100 Asia Awards. Honorees for the CIO 100 Asia Awards are determined by users of information security products and services who voted online during a one-month period. The CIO 100 winners are determined by CIO Magazine judges. The results were announced at an awards ceremony at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Singapore on April 7, 2006.
