Samsung Tesco Home Plus Deploys Fortinet Multi-Threat Security Solution

Leading Korean Discount Store Protects Against Security Threats with FortiGate Solutions

SEOUL, Korea. - Apr. 1, 2008 - Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that Samsung Tesco Home Plus has successfully deployed Fortinet's FortiGate™ unified threat management solution at its 66 stores throughout Korea. With the deployment of FortiGate appliances, Home Plus is helping to secure its network infrastructure from malicious Internet attacks such as viruses, worms and malicious traffic.

Home Plus, one of Korea's leading discount stores with 66 locations throughout the country, was looking for a comprehensive security solution to protect against harmful Internet threats. Home Plus selected Fortinet's FortiGate solutions because of Fortinet's name recognition within the market and the mother company of Home Plus also has been benefiting from Fortinet's FortiGate-60 A.

A FortiGate-200A is deployed at Home Plus's Data Restoration center for Firewall. FortiGate-100As are deployed at 21 stores to prevent the spread of malicious Internet viruses between stores

"With the FortiGate solution, we can now protect our valuable customer information by blocking network attacks such as worms and spyware," said Kim Jeong-han, manager of System Management team at Samsung Tesco Home Plus. "The FortiGate appliances are very convenient and easy to use and with the FortiGuard service, we have real time security updates."

Home Plus also deployed FortiManager 400A and FortiAnalyzer 800 at its data center. With FortiAnalyzer, Home Plus is able to securely analyze log data from FortiGate appliances to be provided comprehensive view of network usage and security information for Home Plus. And FortiAnalyzer centrally manages all FortiGate solution, minimizing the administrative effort to maintain the full range of network protection services.

Fortinet's FortiGate unified threat management platforms are integrated network security solutions providing content inspection firewall, IPSec and SSL VPN, intrusion prevention, Web filtering, anti-spam, antivirus, antispyware that prevent blended attacks, as well as providing integrated traffic shaping functions, making them the most cost effective, convenient and powerful network protection solutions available.
