Fortinet Wins ConnecTimes' MIS Managers' Best Choice Award

Technology magazine ConnecTimes names Fortinet winner in two categories.

TAIPEI, Republic of China, Taiwan; January 27, 2005 - Fortinet, Inc., the confirmed market leader in Unified Threat Management and only provider of ASIC-accelerated, network-based antivirus firewall systems for real-time network protection, was named by technology magazine, ConnecTimes, winner of the MIS Managers' Best Choice Award in the Security Gateway category and runner-up in the Firewall category.

ConnecTimes is a technology periodical published by the Institute for Information Industry, Republic of China, Taiwan. The Institute for Information Industry is an organization composed of individuals from government and the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Industry, committed to advancing Taiwan as an ICT leader in the world.

Fortinet's FortiGate™ series of products stood out from the competition in the areas of ease of use, manageability and completeness of features. Its unique ASIC-based hardware architecture enables real-time performance without compromising depth and breadth of features. The High Availability (HA) features in the higher-end FortiGate products make them suited for high traffic, carrier environments.

The FortiGate series provides complete content protection, with features such as anti-virus, anti-spam, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP), firewall, VPN, content filtering and bandwidth management. Fortinet provides comprehensive network security solutions for companies ranging from SoHo's to large enterprises, in industries as diverse as telecommunications, government, education, and finance.

Each FortiGate unit is automatically kept up to date with the latest virus, spam and other network threats through the FortiProtect™ Network, a service that pushes updates to FortiGate units around the world, and around the clock.

"We are very pleased with our two wins, in the Security Gateway category and the Firewall category," said Richard Hanke, vice president of Product Management of Fortinet. "We have previously won awards from Network Computing magazine and Red Herring magazine in the United States. These endorsements from the leading magazines in technology indicate that the features and capabilities of our products are recognized not only in the United States, but in Asia as well."
