Fortinet Provides 10-Gig Network Protection for Exhibitors and Attendees at Medical Industry's Largest Tradeshow

Fortinet's FortiGate™ Multi-Threat Security Systems Secure iNOC-Designed Network at the Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA) Annual Meeting

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 27, 2006 - Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that its FortiGate™ multi-threat security systems have been deployed to secure the 10-Gigabit network at the Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA) Annual Meeting at McCormick Place in Chicago, held from Nov. 26 -Dec. 1. RSNA is the medical industry's largest international meeting with over 750 vendors and 70,000 attendees, including radiologists, allied health scientists, hospital executives and healthcare consultants.

Fortinet's FortiGate enterprise-class multi-threat security appliances are protecting the tradeshow's massive high-speed communications network that supports the conference, dubbed RSNAnet, which is designed and managed by iNOC, a global provider of Network Operations Center (NOC) services and Fortinet partner. To manage and monitor the network, iNOC builds a temporary NOC at the Convention Center. RSNAnet spans multiple exhibit halls across two million square-feet, has about 120 network closets and uses 10-Gigabit Ethernet technology. The network allows attendees and exhibitors to check email, view and exchange PACS radiological images, access exhibit information and surf the Web using their laptops, tablet PCs and PDAs.

Multiple FortiGate-500A and FortiGate-800 systems, providing firewall, antivirus and intrusion prevention are deployed both internally on every network segment, as well as externally on Internet connections. iNOC has been designing, building and managing RSNAnet for the last seven years, and this is the fourth year that Fortinet's FortiGate security systems have protected the network.

Fortinet's FortiGate multi-threat security appliances provide comprehensive network and content protection through the integration of eight essential security applications and services - including antivirus, firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), antispam, antispyware, Web filtering and traffic shaping. The systems are kept up to date automatically by Fortinet's FortiGuard subscription services, which provide continuous updates to ensure protection against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, and other threats - around the clock, and around the world.

"The critical requirements of securing a temporary network of this magnitude mirror the requirements of securing a large enterprise," said Matthew Barth, RSNAnet Project Manager for iNOC. "Fortinet's enterprise-class FortiGate systems allowed us to quickly deploy high-performance multi-threat protection to our network, which will support more than 70,000 users."
