Fortinet Wins 1,400+ Security System Deal with Taiwan's National Police Agency

National Police Agency of Taiwan's Ministry of Interior Selects Fortinet Network Security Appliances to Secure its Island-wide Network

SUNNYVALE, Calif., August 15, 2005 - Fortinet - the pioneer and market leader of Unified Threat Management and only provider of ASIC-accelerated, network-based multi-threat security systems for real-time network protection - today announced that the National Police Agency (NPA) of Taiwan's Ministry of Interior, has purchased and will deploy more than 1,400 Fortinet security systems, management and host security products to protect against network threats for its police offices throughout the island.

Taiwan National Police Agency selected Fortinet solutions based on the superior cost effectiveness, breadth of integrated security functionality, performance, and scalability of Fortinet's FortiGate network security platforms, which perfectly suit the organization's needs. For this island-wide deployment, the organization purchased:

  • 1,400 FortiGate-50A systems for to protect its individual police offices
  • 22 FortiGate-300A antivirus firewall systems for its larger police offices
  • 1 FortiManager system for centralized management and monitoring of the FortiGate systems being deployed
  • 1,000 FortiClient host security software licenses to protect the desktops and mobile notebooks of its police officers
