Fortinet Brings Public And Private Sectors Together And Expands Efforts With U.S. Federal Government Through Silicon Valley Event

Sponsorship of USPAACC Business Colloquy Illustrates Fortinet’s Ongoing Commitment To Addressing IT Security Needs Of Government Agencies

SAN JOSE, Calif., -- Jan. 14, 2004 – Fortinet, the only provider of ASIC-powered, network-based antivirus firewall systems for real-time network protection, is continuing to support the U.S. federal government’s quest to fight cyberterrorism and improve Homeland Security through sponsorship of the San Jose Business Colloquy. The one-day event, held in conjunction with the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) will enable participants to hear first hand the major IT security challenges faced by government agencies, and offer insight into the types of companies the federal government wants to work with. The business colloquy will be held January 15, 2004 in San Jose, Calif., from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm at the Doubletree Hotel.

“Cyberterrorism and Homeland Security are not merely domestic issues; they are global threats to the ability to live and work without fear of personal or financial threats,” said Ken Xie, founder and CEO of Fortinet. “While Fortinet’s technology solutions are clearly at the head of the industry in their ability to help curb the growing numbers of attacks against both public and private networks, there is no one single solution on the market that will protect all businesses and nations from all cyber dangers. It is only through the ongoing exchange of information at events such as this that the private sector can effectively help global governments.”

The business colloquy will feature panel discussions such as “Doing Business with the Federal Government,” with speakers to include representatives from The White House, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) representatives will hold a special session on technology opportunities arising from the war on terrorism and security clearance requirements. DoD’s Small Business Innovative Research and Mentor- Protégé programs will be featured in detail.
